ON THE RIGHT TRACK?

READ -- Colossians 1:1-29

"And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way:
bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God." -- Colossians 1:10 (NIV)

The sign on the marquee read, "Sitting on the right track will get you ran over." Profane as it might be there is a lot of truth contained in that statement. We can be on the right track, but not necessarily doing any good. To be of any usefulness in the Kingdom of God, we must be moving and growing daily. The apostle Paul commended those belonging to the church at Colosse for he had heard of their faith which was growing and was producing fruit.

But you might say, "You just don't understand. I can't go on. I am tired." You are right when you say, "I can't." However, by the power of Christ within you, you can. Paul in verses 11 and 12 of the first chapter of Colossians writes, "Being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of the light." Note it is not our strength, but Christ's. It is only in the Son, Jesus, that we can experience redemption and the forgiveness of sins. Peace was accomplished only by His shed blood on the cross and perfection only comes through Christ.

Growth and maturity come naturally in the physical realm. Are we also growing daily in our walk with Christ? Or are we sitting on the tracks of life waiting for whatever may, to come our way?

THERE ARE NO RUNTS IN GOD'S KINGDOM
ONLY SPIRITUAL GIANTS.
